5-4-10: Grippers

5-4-10, Tuesday

9 days after my last crappy gripper workout I finally decided to give it a go after some light weight training to warmup. It turned out to be a pretty good day.

-Choked #3.5 at .592″-X1-both hands
*Notes: That’s parallel on this #3.5 that belong to IROC-Z from the Gripboard. Very solid #3.5 but it’s not calibrated. Somewhere around 185lbs+ I think.
-MMS 160lb #3X1-right hand, -146lb #3X1-left hand
*Notes: Both were very solid closes.
-MMS 169lb Super Elite-X1-right hand
*Notes: Right on! Added a 3-count hold. Missed this same gripper about 3 times the last workout. The difference this time is that it was about 80 degrees in my garage, which definitely helps on keeping my hands nice and toasty. Warm hands equals strong hands.
-MMS 154lb #3X1-left hand
*Notes: Pretty solid close.
-MMS T7-MISS-right hand
*Notes: Only missed by about 1/16″. Will try this again.
-MMS 154lb #3X1-left hand
*Notes: Solid close.
-MMS T7X1-right hand!
*Notes: Very nice! Haven’t closed the T7 in a while either. It’s harder than the Super Elite too.
-Choked #3.5 at .652″-X1-right hand, -MISS-left hand
*Notes: Solid close right hand. Missed by about 1/8″ lefty.
-Choked #3.5 at .820″-MISS-right hand
*Notes: Missed by a sliver.
-TNS #2X5-left hand

*Overall Notes: Felt stronger than I have in a while. Could’ve done a lot more closes but figured I’d call it quits on a good note. Might be able to make it to this year’s Gripmas contest in December in Crooksville, Ohio. So I figure there will probably be grippers in chokers. May as well spend some time getting strong on them again. As soon as Chris announces if the grippers are in chokers (if he does), I’ll be looking hard for a 190lb+ gripper to buy or trade so I can train up.
