Two 11-year-old USAWA Grip Records are now mine

The 2 Hand Pinch was the second event at the USAWA National Grip Championships.  I knew I wouldn’t break any PRs on this event since the plates weren’t even chalked when the warmups started.  Most of the competitors simply chalked their hands and then just grabbed the plates and lifted them without first chalking the plates and trying to get a better grip on the plates.

I pulled 162 pounds on my 2nd attempt and broke Elijah Kucera’s 11-year-old record of 160 pounds that he set in May of 2000 at the Super Grip Challenge.  Always neat to break a record that old.

The Middle Fingers Deadlift was the third event.  The previous record was also held by Elijah Kucera – 245 pounds.  I pulled 275 pounds on my opener and then got 310 pounds on my 3rd attempt.  Beating the previous record by 65 pounds in the process.
