5-7-11: 20mm Mouse Pinch and Blobs

MOUSE PINCH

The pinch width was actually 19.5mm but I figure 20mm is close enough for record keeping purposes.  Tried this very narrow width because it will be contested at the 2012 Michigan Grip Championships.  The width will be somewhere between 3/4″ and 1″ so I’ve got to start training a good bit at both of those widths to get acclimated and start getting stronger at that specific range of pinch width.

Stood on top of 9.5″ of plates to ensure it simulates a Euro Pinch apparatus pull height.

-101×1     *Notes: Full pull.  Felt a lot heavier than 101lbs.

-131×1     *Notes: Full pull.  Hard lift.

-143×1     *Notes: Full pull and definitely a max lift.

Stopped the workout there because I knew that even a few pounds more wasn’t going to rise.  Now I have a baseline to work from.

BLOBS

-50 York – @ 4″-right hand, -MISS-left hand

-50 York – @ 8″-right hand, -MISS-left hand

-50 York – @ 8″-right hand, -MISS-left hand

-50 York – knee height-right hand, -MISS-left hand     *Notes: Used a crude scale method (put the blob on a scale and then pulled and recorded the lowest number on the scale) lefty and got down to 9.2lbs.

-50 York – knee height-right hand, -MISS-left hand     *Notes: Used the scale method again and got down to 3lbs.

-50 York – @ 8″-right hand, -MISS-left hand

Just couldn’t pull the Blob today.  That’s okay since it was after my narrow pinch workout.
