From now on I won’t train Mouse Pinch without standing on blocks to make it closer to a contest-legal pulling distance. That just makes the most sense in terms of having contest carryover.
I used this narrow width because it’s being featured at the 2012 Michigan Grip Championships. The narrow width brings down everyone’s pinch numbers so I know it will help me to train close to this width for quite a while and dial-in my technique to bring the highest numbers at the contest.
-101×1 *Notes: Full pull.
-112×1 *Notes: Full pull.
-117×1 *Notes: Full pull. Barely held on the entire time.
-120×1 *Notes: Full pull. Barely held on.
-126×1 *Notes: Full pull. Barely held on.
-131×1 *Notes: Full pull. Pretty strong lift. Got my hands “set” just right this time.
-136×1 *Notes: Pulled to the minimum height – barely. Totally max effort.
-141-MISS *Notes: No movement at all.
It’s surprising how quickly you can go from a full lift to not even moving the weight an inch. That difference on this narrow width is about 10lbs apparently.
