7-5-11: Chinups

7-5-11, Tuesday

Bodyweight was 218lbs.

-BW-x2     *Notes: Creaky and tender left shoulder.  Not a good sign to start out that way.

-BW-x3     *Notes: Had a few more in the tank this set.

-BW-x3     *Notes: Probably had one more rep.

-BW-x2     *Notes: Time to stop.  Got the reps but the shoulder was too tender to go on.

Total of 10 reps.  I took plenty of rest between sets – hoping that my shoulder would loosen up a bit.

Ben, do you come down to a dead hang between reps? I’ve found that to really put my shoulder in a bind.

Matt, I do come to a complete stop and you’re right – that is exacerbating the shoulder pain. But it’s one of those little tics I have when it comes to exercise performance on chinups. Might have to get over that real quick if I want to continue doing chinups though.
