7-8-11, Friday

TNS GRIPPERS

WARMUP:

-Trainer-x1-both hands, -#2×1-both hands, -GNC200x1-both hands

WORKOUT:

-134lb Bone Crusher 300×1-both hands

-137lb #3×1-both hands     *Notes: Solid closes.

-153lb GNC250x1-right hand, -MISS-left hand     *Notes: Only missed by a sliver lefty.

-159lb RB330N-MISS-right hand     *Notes: Off by 1/8″.  Not good.

-153lb GNC250-MISS-left hand     *Notes: Off by 1/16″.  Almost there.

-159lb RB330N-MISS-right hand     *Notes: Off by 1/16″.  So close it ticks me off.

-153lb GNC250x3-right hand     *Notes: Rep PR – on video.  All solid reps.

-153lb GNC250-MISS-left hand     *Notes: Off by 1/16″ again.

-139lb RB210x1-both hands!     *Notes: First time TNS closing this lefty!  This is my wide (3 and 1/16″) RB210 so it’s much harder than the calibration suggests.

-139lb RB210x1-right hand, -MISS-left hand     *Notes: Missed by 1/16″ lefty.

-139lb RB210x1-right hand, -MISS-left hand     *Notes: Missed by a slivery lefty.

-139lb RB210x1-right hand, -MISS-left hand     *Notes: Hard close righty and missed by a sliver lefty.

-129lb Atomgripz Mirror Finish Triple Band-x2-right hand, -x1-left hand     *Notes: First time repping this since it’s such a slippery bastard.  Used the “water trick” to ensure I had tacky hands.

This was one of those workouts that on paper looks great – and it was, overall.  But I missed the RB330N twice and the obvious goal of my workouts is to get stronger for a grip contest that features TNS grippers.  That contest will not reward me for doing reps with a lighter gripper.  It rewards the SINGLE HARDEST gripper close.  Period.  Time to figure out my TNS training and dial it in.
