9-23-11: 19mm Block Set Grippers

9-23-11, Friday

19MM BLOCK SET GRIPPERS

-Trainer-x5-both hands

-#2×1-both hands

-121lb GNC200x1-both hands

-137lb #3×1-both hands     Pretty easy both hands.  Weaker lefty, but that’s usual.

-151lb #3×1-right hand, -MISS-left hand     Pretty hard righty for some reason.  Not even close lefty.

-Quad Band-Gun Metal (uncalibrated)-x1-right hand     Much harder than it should’ve been.

-Quad Band-Gun Metal (uncalibrated)-x2-right hand     Even getting 2 reps isn’t going to do much for me at the Fall Grip Decathlon.  I’d better up my game in a hurry!  I am terrible at reps and horrible at the block setting too.

-Quad Band-Gun Metal (uncalibrated)-MISS-right hand     Missed by 1/16″.  Pretty aggravating to miss by that close of a margin.

-Quad Band-Gun Metal (uncalibrated)-MISS-right hand     Missed by 1/8″.  Strength is gone for the harder attempts.  Better pack it in and do some easier attempts now.

-151lb #3×1-right hand     Very hard – too soon after my last miss on the Quad Band.

-Trainer-x5-both hands     Restarted the workout about 5 hours later.  Only wanted to do a bit more to up the volume slightly.

-#2×5-both hands     Just adding to the volume on the 19mm block set closes.

-121lb GNC200x5-both hands     Hard-ish at this point.

-137lb #3×5-right hand, -x3-left hand     Hard on both hands.

Ordered David Horne’s 20mm aluminum block immediately after finishing this workout!  That’s how serious I am about doing better at this event at the contest in November.  For this workout I used a gripper handle (COC handles are 19mm diameter) and it worked okay.
