Very Slow 2-Mile Run This Morning

A very slow 2 miles this morning after work.  Not because I didn’t feel good.  Because I felt great.  Had all the energy in the world.  But I just couldn’t go very fast today and on a 1-10 RPE scale it was probably an average of 7 even though it was barely faster than 12-minute miles.  That must mean that I wasn’t recovered from my PR mile run from the other day.

Glad I went ahead and finished the run even though it sure wasn’t comfortable at any point during the run.  I nose-breathed the entire run.  That always makes things interesting on the home stretch when I am just dying to open my mouth and suck down a ton of air.  But I kept my control and just kept on trucking and hauling in as much air as possible through my nose.  As soon as I finished the run I was mouth breathing for a few minutes though.

I’m off this weekend but might not be able to get anymore miles in due to some party action (joint-birthday party for me and my brother-in-law on Saturday) and my volunteer work at Operation WildLife tomorrow night.
