Another 5-Minute Snatch Test

Yesterday’s workout was entertaining. 

Another 5-Minute Snatch Test.

This time with a heavier kettlebell than the 24kg kettlebell I’ve been focusing most of my attention on these past few weeks. 

I didn’t quite go balls to the wall – but I gave it about an RPE of 8 to establish a baseline to work up from. 

Got 22 less reps in 5 minutes – just by using a kettlebell 4kg heavier than what I’m used to.  This tells me many things.  Most importantly, that I need to spend time with much heavier kettlebells to make the 24kg feel comfortable cardio-wise. 

I’m on the prowl for a heavier kettlebell to add to my collection of single KBs.  I have a 4kg (actually 10lb, but I call it a 4kg in my log), 7kg (actually 15lbs…), 16kg, 20kg, 24kg, and a 28kg KB.  I want to get a 32kg at minimum.  Heavier would be okay too.  I don’t do much pressing with either arm because my left is so hampered with past injuries.  So snatching and swings are really 90% of what it will be used for.
