Kettlebell Kardio

I hate it when people use a “K” to spell something that is actually spelled with a “C” – but I did it anyway.

Did a 5-Minute Snatch Test with my new 12kg kettlebell.  Got 116 total reps in 5 minutes.  The kettlebell felt light the entire time but my lungs – as I expected – were the limiter.  Glad I bought this lighter kettlebell and I will be doing plenty of work besides longer sets of snatches with it in the months to come.

Even though this kettlebell is half the weight of the 24kg one that I would use for an official Tactical Strength Challenge 5-Minute Snatch Test, I am confident it will help me increase my snatch reps.  Just getting the feel for higher rep sets will make it easier with the heavier kettlebells.

Here’s how the 5 minutes was spent.

  • 25 reps-righty

  • 25 reps-lefty

  • 25 reps-righty

  • 25 reps-lefty

  • 5 reps-righty

  • 5 reps-lefty

  • 3 reps-righty

  • 3 reps-lefty

50 reps at the 2-minute mark.  Rested 30 seconds and then did the remainder of the reps.
